Harhar. Ihr SCHWEINE! :)

Norbert G. Matausch's Flower

I bought What color is your Parachute? A practical manual for job-hunters and career-changers by Richard Nelson Bolles a couple of weeks ago. It completely changed my view of things, especially my view of my future career path.

The nifty little graphic below is my so-called flower: my job-relevant interests on one sheet of paper. Hm... if you happen to know someone who needs someone like me -- let us know :)

Oohh, sweet Ph*t*sh*p!

Wow. Learned how to add really realistically looking age effects to photos. Simply amazing.

Welcome to the community of tax payers

Well, here we go: I called the IRS overseas contact person today, in Frankfurt, Germany. Asked him if we had filed our US tax correctly. Click-click-click. I can hear him typing on his keyboard. Very friendly man, with a dry sense of humor. Seconds later, he tells me: "Yes, you filed successfully. Everything's fine."

Wow. Guess we're ready to roll. See you in Plano, TX, in next February.

Reentry Permits – we got 'em :)

Yesterday, our Denver-based friend Liz called us. She told us that the Immigration Service had sent her our so-called "travel documents" :) These allow us to stay outside the US till next year, without any problems. This is a very, very good thing, because our job contracts here force us to stay in Germany till the end of the year.

In the end of January 2008, we'll finally move to the US. The Plano, TX, area is our destination. It'll be great :)
